When studying huge amounts of data with the goal of identifying, ranking and proposing drilling targets, geoscientists must be able to rapidly shift the focus from looking at all the data to investigating a qualified data subset that has the potential to generate one or more targets.

Paradigm excels in both unique technologies and proven workflows that allow geoscientists to sift through data and pinpoint features, anomalies and structures of interest.  The combination of an effective multi-2D, multi-3D seismic interpretation system and an integrated geological cross-section tool makes it easy to scan large data volumes for an initial assessment of the major events within a given acreage.  Data analysis in the form of crossplots of seismic attributes with formation evaluation results provides critical insight into features of interest, qualifying them as meaningful or as artifacts.

Fully integrated well planning tools enable the planning of a safe trajectory when combined with pore pressure information.  For horizontal drilling into thin formations, a log response modeling tool is an integral part of a real-time geosteering solution that will help keep the bit in the seam, for maximum pay penetration.  Formation stress and fracture zone identification technologies contribute to safety and make it possible to target sweet zones in tight formations, such as shale gas.
